She Sleeps In Heavenly Peace...Finally
My husband's step mom passed away this morning, after a very long bout with cancer. This was her 3rd time fighting the beast. This time, it won. She was a warm, caring and wonderful lady and will be badly missed, but after several weeks of suffering and "wanting to die", she is most definitely in a better place. We love you Jean ~ always! ♥
“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

Always hard to lose a loved one. But I am sure you are right that she is in a much better place now and no longer dealing with the pain. I really liked the poem.
My thoughts and prayer go out to you and your husband for the loss
Thanks D, I appreciate it ~

I heard the news from Laura, but that made me really feel it. It's hard to lose someone close to you. I wish that you and your husband will able to get through this hard time.
Aw, Joshie - that means so much. You have such a sweet heart. Thank you ♥
Sorry to hear about your loss, Angie! But as the daughter of a hospice nurse, I can only think how important it was that she had you and your husband caring about her so much and sharing your love and support with her.
From my mother's work I've learned how incredibly important that is, and what a difference it makes for people as they seek a final peace.
Take care,
Amy
Amy, thank you ♥
Ang - I'm so bad! I totally blanked on this post - didn't see it until I was getting caught up on my blogsters tonight. Thoughts and prayers and wishes to you all.
